Google Chrome OS on VirtualBox


Read this post if you are a tech-geek and want to install Google Chrome OS on Virtual Box or develop web applications using this new OS from Google.


Steps to follow:

1. Download and install  Virtual Box
2. As ChromeOS is an open source OS, you can either build your own copy of OS. Simply visit here or Download an image file for Chrome OS
3. Open Virtual Box and Click New

4. Press Next

5. Give a Name to your new virtual machine and Select "Linux" as your Operating System and "Ubuntu" as your OS Version.

6. Provide the RAM for your virtual machine and press Next.
[Note] Providing excess RAM to your virtual machine will hamper the performance of your host machine.


7. Choose the existing hard disk downloaded in Step 2.




8. Review the Summary of New Virtual Machine and press Create.


9. GoTo Virutal Box --> Select your Machine --> press Settings --> System --> Processor tab and enable PAE/NX 
to expose the physical address extenstion feature of the host CPU to the virtual machine.


10. GoTo Display Menu under Settings and provide the Video Memory for the virtual machine and Press Ok..


11. Now finally start the Virtual Machine and Login with your Google Account Credentials.
